Family Celebration for a Special Father's Birthday

Our beautiful country house is spacious and comfortable with lovely seating and communal areas which are excellent for get-togethers and celebrations. There is a large garden, private river access and woodland, making it the ideal setting for a family gathering.

Last year a group consisting of members of a family from Leicester and special friends from Cardiff booked Abernant House for a six-night stay.

The son of the family was bringing his elderly parents and family for a treat, to say thank you and also to celebrate the father’s birthday.

Nine adults stayed for the entire time, but guests came up from Cardiff for a garden party one day.

They kindly invited Jo, the Manager, over to share food with them at their garden party – it was delicious vegan Indian food. One cousin was a chef in Cardiff and she also brought an array of incredible cakes.

The family set up a shrine for prayers in the Library complete with flowers and offerings.

The family particularly appreciated having the River Wye at the bottom of the garden – there was plenty of dancing in the river!

All in all, as you can see from the photos, it was a truly joyful, lively and delightful stay!
